Autistic Teen Sets Guinness World Record with Largest Art Canvas

Fifteen-year-old Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, a Nigerian artist living with autism, has achieved global recognition by setting the Guinness World Record for the largest art canvas. His artwork, “Impossibility is a Myth,” spans an extraordinary 12,303.87 square meters and was unveiled on April 2, 2025, during World Autism Awareness Day at Eagle Square in Abuja.

Kanyeyachukwu’s journey is a testament to resilience and talent. Diagnosed with autism at a young age and initially non-verbal, he discovered art as a means of self-expression. His record-breaking creation not only showcases his artistic brilliance but also raises awareness about autism and challenges societal perceptions of neurodiversity.

The event was organized by the Zeebah Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting autistic individuals. Proceeds from the event will fund a state-of-the-art Autism Resource Centre in Abuja, aimed at providing essential services for children on the autism spectrum. The unveiling drew notable attendees, including government officials and international diplomats, who celebrated Kanyeyachukwu’s achievement as a symbol of inclusion and empowerment.

This historic accomplishment highlights the potential of neurodiverse individuals when given opportunities to thrive. Kanyeyachukwu’s story serves as an inspiration, proving that impossibility truly is a myth.
